Policy
Editorial policy
Accuracy before attention. This is the working standard of the desk, and it is marked for legal review.
Working draft for legal review. This page is not a substitute for advice from qualified counsel and should be reviewed before the publication relies on it.
What we publish
We publish reported funding, fund closes, company and investor profiles, and analysis that stays tied to those reports. A story is not published because it would perform. It is published because the essential facts can be traced.
Attribution
Independent reporting is attributed to the news organisation that reported it, with a link. A company’s own announcement is attributed to the company. A venture firm’s assets, deal count, or IPO tally is a firm claim unless we have checked it ourselves, and the page says which it is.
We do not invent quotes, journalists, investors, valuations, or customer counts to make a story feel complete. If a Reuters report does not name the investors, the investors are not named here.
The byline
Launch stories carry the StartupMedia360 Editorial Desk. A named reporter appears only when that person did the reporting. The byline is an organisation, not a fictional person, and the structured data matches that.
Statuses
Every item in the file-based archive has a status: draft, pending verification, ready for review, approved, scheduled, published, updated, or retracted. Only published and updated items, and scheduled items whose time has arrived, are public. Approved is not the same as published. Pending verification does not appear on the homepage, in section indexes, or in sitemaps.
Analysis
When we interpret a set of figures, the interpretation is labelled as a reading. We do not average two incompatible datasets into a false consensus, and we do not turn one round into a market-share statistic.
Corrections and sponsorship
Mistakes are corrected under the corrections policy. Paid placements, if they ever run, follow the sponsored content policy and are not written as news.
Tools
Editing tools may be used to tighten prose. They are not a source. A fact that exists only because a model asserted it does not go in the paper.
