What happened

On 22 April 2025, TechCrunch reported that Supabase had raised $200 million at a $2 billion valuation. Accel led the round. Accel’s own note describes Supabase as powering a new generation of AI applications. TechCrunch framed demand around “vibe coding,” its term for software built in a tighter loop with AI tools.

The amount

Series D: $200 million. Valuation: $2 billion. Lead investor: Accel. The date of the TechCrunch report is 22 April 2025. Those are the Series D facts in this briefing.

Who invested in this round

Accel is the lead named for the Series D. Other participants in that round are not added here, because they are not in the sources this page is willing to rely on. Accel does not have a profile in this archive. A single lead announcement is not a reason to write a firm dossier from memory.

The Asia angle is the previous round

A prior Series C of $80 million, in September 2024, was led by Peak XV and Craft. TechCrunch noted that the Series D arrived seven months after the previous raise, which lines up with that September timing. Peak XV matters to this story as the lead of the prior round, and as an Asia-based firm. It is not described here as the Series D lead.

Keeping the rounds apart is the point. A later round does not rewrite who led the one before it.

What the company does

This briefing describes Supabase the way the Series D sources did: a developer-infrastructure company that Accel presented as infrastructure for AI applications, in a market TechCrunch tied to AI-assisted software development. Product metrics that those pieces are not being quoted for are not added.

Geography, stated carefully

Supabase has been associated with a founding in New Zealand and with operations in Singapore. That context is why the Peak XV relationship belongs in an Asia briefing. It is not a figure from the Series D announcement, and it is not a substitute for a filing. This page does not award the company a single headquarters city, and it is not filed under a country page on the strength of that association.

Use of funds

Not set out as a line item in the TechCrunch or Accel sources this briefing relies on.

Why it matters

The round is an AI-infrastructure financing with a documented Asia investor in the round before it. It also sits next to a later, separate fact: in February 2026 Bloomberg reported that Peak XV had raised $1.3 billion for AI and consumer investing in India and Southeast Asia. The Supabase Series C is one public example of Peak XV already having led an infrastructure round. It is not evidence about how the 2026 funds will be spent.

What remains undisclosed

Other Series D investors, the use of funds, and a single confirmed headquarters. A financing after this Series D has circulated in secondary write-ups. It is not reported here. The primary sources for that later round are not in hand, and a number without them would be a rumour with a dollar sign.
